What is up everybody! Bush here, reporting from the Shoprite LPGA Classic at the Seaview Golf Club Media Center. Keep an eye out for our logo on Television re-runs on Golf Channel… We are here on the final day of the tournament where JeongeunLee and Lexi Thompson currently lead the field by 4 strokes at a total score of -10 (1:15pm Sunday).
Funny story about Lee actually, because there are approximately 5 or 6 women on the tour with the same name, she legally changed her name to J. Lee 6... So I’m currently looking at the leaderboard as we speak and it says “Lee 6” as the current leader at -10.
But enough about the names, I wanted to talk about the two things. The quality of the course and the weather conditions.
1) So one, Seaview always shows up for one of the biggest LPGA tournaments on the East Coast. The course is looking primed and the greens are like putting on a marble countertop. Its looking really great.
2) BUT 2 is the biggest problem here. Because the LPGA event is held on the bay course, the wind is typically always in factor. But we are literally working with tornado like winds today on the bay course. Regardless of however much Seaview wants to make this course pristine, the wind today will make the course virtually impossible to stick shots where you want to put them.
Because the wind is so strong today, and after speaking with a few of the caddies, its only getting worse out on the course. Plyers final scores are going to be skewed in-part to the course being difficult because conditions are so good along with the heavy winds.
All-in-all the event today is sunny and crystal-clear skies with a pretty decent breeze, I am about to head down inside the ropes and watch the remainder of the shootout between Lee 6 and Thompson. (GO USA!)
