Ladies and Gentlemen, its official. Jamal Adams has finally requested for a trade from the New York Jets. This has been a long time coming now especially since there were reported rumors of the Jets shopping Adams already. The 2x Pro Bowler has given out the 7 teams that he prefers to be traded to. This necessarily doesn’t mean that he will go to one of these four proffered destinations, but this is just where he would like to see himself playing. His preferred teams are the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and the Houston Texans. Some of these teams he could have major success on but is there any chance that he could flop on one of these teams. Here I will be ranking the best fits for him in his proffered destinations and maybe even some wildcard teams that could make their way into the picture.

7. Kansas City Chiefs

Now I know what you are thinking, the Chiefs are coming fresh off of a Superbowl win, why would this not be a great fit for him to excel? Well I think their safety positions are pretty much set in stone for next season considering they just won the championship and they have on young thriving safety and on the other side they have the “Honey Badger: Tyrann Mathieu. At first there were many question marks around the Chiefs defense going into the playoffs last season, but after the playoff run, they had they shut down any criticism that was given to them before. Even though this is one of the preferred landing spots for Jamal Adams, do not expect him to go there.

6. Houston Texans

The direction of where the Texans franchise is going moving forward is the hardest thing to figure out. They have a star Quarterback in Deshaun Watson and just traded away arguably the best receiver in the league for a runningback who has fallen off and a draft pick. Jamal Adams is leaving a Jets franchise that has no clue with their stars, to a team that just traded away their star. He will just be put in the same situation in Houston besides the fact that he will have a young rising star in Justin Reid on the other side of him and an elite lineman JJ Watt on his team as well.

5. Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are always a hit or miss team every season. Last season they were pretty dominant going 12-4 and securing a spot as wildcard team in the playoffs. The Seahawks need that star-studded defender especially if Clowney is not going to return. The Seahawks has not had a strong secondary since the legion of boom days and Jamal Adams could be the starting piece to bring their defense back together and make them a dominant defensive team again.

4. Dallas Cowboys
Dallas, what can I say? They have potential to do all the right things with Jamal Adams, but will they have the money to keep him around long term. After signing Zeke and Cooper to big time deals and still needing to pay Prescott, it is not really the right idea to bring in someone who is going to want a big contract in 2 years. On the field though, Adams would be a huge addition to the Cowboys defense. They are lacking the safety position of the departure of Byron Jones who played both corner and safety for them and they need that star-studded player like Jamal Adams in their secondary to get them past the mediocre seasons they have been having.

3. Philadelphia Eagles
The birds always need help in their secondary. If you are an Eagles fan you have probably yelled at the TV more times than enough that the secondary is either getting burnt downfield, or missing tackles. Jamal Adams bring both of those aspects to the table. With Malcom Jenkins leaving for New Orleans it would be a perfect void to fill bringing in Jamal Adams. Right now, they still have Rodney Mcleod who is starting to get older now and a question mark at who the second safety will be. There have been talks about moving Avonte Maddux to safety and they have just drafted K’von Wallace out of Clemson who people are hyping to be the next Brian Dawkins. This could be handled a lot easier by just going out and getting Jamal Adams someone young and they can return long term.

2. Baltimore Ravens

With Earl Thomas’s career slowly coming to an end, Jamal Adams would be a perfect replacement at safety for him. The Ravens are on the verge of making it to the Superbowl and having Earl Thomas and Jamal Adams on defense would make their secondary potentially the best in the league. This would give the Ravens the last star that they need to lift that Lombardi trophy back into the air

  1. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers made it to the Superbowl last year and fell a little short not being able to hold on to a 11-point lead. They got killed in the air and having Jamal Adams back at safety would prevent that from happening. The 49ers have a young excelling defensive core with Nick Bosa on the line as well as a young linebacker core. Their secondary is good lead by Richard Sherman and having a playmaker like Jamal Adams at safety would add to the young defensive core and make their defensive an even better force to be reckoned with.

Wildcard: Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers need help on offense especially since their starting quarterback is getting older and is becoming an injury prone player. That be said why not keep boosting their already dominate defense. I’m sure Steelers fans remember the days of Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark having a great defensive safety core. The Steelers already have Minkah Fitzpatrick who has proven that he can reach his full potential with this team. If you throw another great safety like Jamal Adams alongside him, I don’t know how teams are going to be able to get around them. The Steelers would have two safeties that are dominate in the league right now and have yet to reach their full potential yet.

Who knows what will happen to the star safety and where he will go. He has made it clear that he wants out and we have not heard anything about him sitting out yet, but I would not be surprised if he does sit out till he is traded. All teams know what he brings to the table, but he may try to improve his worth even more by playing out the 2020 season with the Jets if he does not get shipped away before the start of the season. All we know is, this is going to be interesting.
